Course description

IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Web Resources (ITCAM for Web Resources) provides a leading-edge J2EE application management solution for the IT Operations segment. ITCAM for Web Resources simplifies the installation and management of the application server and Web server management agents, and improves usability through dashboard views and event correlation situations and actions. In this workshop, you will learn the product features and functions, how to install and configure the product for WebSphere, and how to use the Tivoli Enterprise Portal to monitor WebSphere applications. The focus of this course is hands-on exercises. Note that this course focuses on deploying ITCAM for Web Resources in an IBM WebSphere environment. IBM WebSphere Application Server 6.1 will be used in the exercises.

Audience

This intermediate level course is for implementers tasked with installing and configuring ITCAM for Web Resources agents into their Tivoli Enterprise Portal infrastructure, and WebSphere administrators responsible for providing a monitoring solution for their application servers.

Prerequisites

You should have the following skills:

• Proficiency using IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.1 in a Windows or UNIX/Linux environment
• Familiarity with the concepts and practices of monitoring composite applications
• Experience configuring J2EE application servers
